Guile & Glory: Firstborn - Dev Update: 4.0 Tomorrow & Steam Delay

Hello again, and welcome to another Guile & Glory: Firstborn development blog! This time we have some good news, and some bad, but overall things are headed in the right direction.

Steam Delay:

This was our first time setting up a game for sale through Steam, and we made some mistakes with the page. It's nothing serious, and easily fixed, but the Steam build will be delayed a couple of weeks. At the very least, Guile & Glory: Firstborn will be available to wishlist on Steam soon.

Early Access 4.0 Release and Updates:

The delays with Steam will not affect the 4.0 update for Early Access, however, which will be going live tomorrow here on itch as originally planned. The Steam version will go live in a couple of weeks (stay tuned for an exact date), and will coincide with the next major update, which will be the 4.3 version of the Early Access build.

Revised Pricing:

We will not be increasing the price here on itch until the Steam build is live, so you have a couple more weeks to pick up the Early Access version of Guile & Glory (including the new 4.x content, and a Steam key when they become available) at a greatly reduced price!

We apologise for the confusion on our end. We're a very small team, and we're still learning the ropes. We definitely learnt a lot, and won't be making the same mistakes again! Thank you all for bearing with us, and we'll see you in the Drowned Lands tomorrow for the 4.0 release!

I know you must be very busy, but please take a time to check my post about a crash that I have been having while playing your game. I'm unable to continue my adventure =(

Hi Skull666,

Thank you for letting us know. We're on it, and a fix should be up in a few hours!

Good to see this game reaching higher state !

Hope to see Linux version soon.

If you like, if i have access to Steam version as a beta or something, i’d like to test it (native Linux or via Proton/Wine).

Some other indi devs do that, the game is not yet public on Steam, but still playable, so when it comes out for everyone, it’s smoother because already tested.

Hi Tchey!

Thank you so much for the kind words! We'd love to get your help testing the game on Steam.

We will aim to make a Linux beta available through Steam shortly after the Early Access release, so that you and any other interested players can help us test the Linux version before it goes live to the public.

Awesome.

Maybe have a word with Liam from GamingOnLinux.com too, it’s probably the best place on internet to advertize a game on Linux.

Fantastic!

That sounds like a great idea! We'll get in touch with him.
